| | | | | | | | | | Dear $[UD:FIRST_NAME||]$ On Tuesday 25 November, we launched Omico’s Impact Report: From Momentum to Mainstream at Parliament House in Canberra, where it was formally presented to The Hon. Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care. We’re pleased to share it with you today.
This report represents almost a decade of shared effort. To everyone who has funded, collaborated, and supported our programs or helped connect people to Omico, thank you. Your commitment has been central to the progress and impact reflected in these pages. | | | | Highlights from Omico’s Impact Report: - Precision oncology works.
Nearly 28,000 Australians have accessed free precision oncology through Omico, with 69% identifying actionable biomarkers. Those matched to targeted options lived up to 50% longer, with some seeing survival more than double. - Australians with incurable cancers can’t wait.
Every 15 minutes, Omico receives another referral for a patient with incurable cancer, yet access to precision oncology remains limited for most people. - Precision oncology drives health and economic benefits.
Backed by $300M in public-private investment, Omico has helped generate over $280M in further investment and created more than 1,500 jobs. - This is a landmark moment to build on this foundation.
Mainstreaming precision oncology is the next step, so that every Australian who could benefit has the chance to do so. The time for decisive action is now — our mates can’t wait. | | | |
While the achievements are significant, too many Australians still miss out on the benefits of precision oncology because it isn’t yet part of mainstream cancer care. The next phase of this journey is about turning momentum into real, system-wide change. We hope the report helps you continue championing this work—within your networks, in practice, in policy, or through your connection with community.
